Ms. Thọ Quang
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
— Henry David Thoreau
Dear friends,
My name is Hoang Oanh, but I am often called by my Dharma name, Tho Quang. I am currently practicing Buddhism and studying Chinese in Ho Chi Minh City. I am also a senior majoring in Chinese Studies at Saigon International University (SIU). I am delighted to be here to connect, learn, and share knowledge with all of you!
Learning Chinese has truly been a major turning point in my academic journey! I was initially inspired to learn the language by a fellow Dharma practitioner. After spending time immersing myself in it, a small hope began to kindle within me: to share this language with others, especially the children in my local community.
To turn this dream into reality, I decided to formally major in Chinese Studies. Although the learning curve comes with plenty of challenges, thinking about the widespread influence and importance of Chinese today—along with the continuous encouragement from those around me—keeps me driven to achieve true fluency.
Sharing what I have learned with the community is also a wonderful opportunity for me to gain new knowledge and life skills. I truly believe that as we practice and learn together, we will create simple joys and lasting values along the way.
Looking forward to studying and growing together with all of you!
