VICASA Lifelong Learning Community was established to support learners by integrating instructional models derived from the Western education system, as well as student-centered and active learning principles from modern educational philosophy. The organization aims to inspire youth and individuals with the capacity and passion for learning, fostering their development into global citizens within both secular and Buddhist educational contexts.
Recognizing the importance of language proficiency in today’s modern and digital age, VICASA aspires to serve as a crucial bridge, providing assistance and facilitation to its participants in their educational journeys. In addition to a variety of Dhamma and foreign language classes held online regularly, VICASA is committed to orienting and training secular or Buddhist English instructors, preachers, translators, and interpreters who are capable of accurately and skillfully conveying Dhamma teachings across cultural and linguistic boundaries. These efforts not only support the global dissemination of Buddhist wisdom but also help build a new generation of educators and communicators equipped to uphold and share the Dhamma in an international context.
A Model for Lifelong Learning in the VICASA Framework
Introducing VICASA – A Journey of Learning, Practice, and Service
With the aspiration to accumulate merit (puñña) and cultivate perfections (pāramī) on the path to enlightenment, we initiated and have sustained a free online learning community called GROUP LEARNING since 2021. Through time and shared effort, this community has grown and evolved into what is now known as VICASA (Vijjā-Caraṇa-Sampanno).
Guided by the principle of “Learning by teaching and sharing,” VICASA is more than a place to study the Dhamma—it is a vibrant environment to practice, teach, share, and nurture liberating wisdom. We emphasize the importance of solidifying foundational Buddhist knowledge, particularly in the Abhidhamma (Higher Teaching), as well as proficiency in essential languages such as Pāli and English. This foundation enables learners to approach meditation and the path of liberation with greater clarity and understanding.
The VICASA Lifelong Learning Community was established to support learners by integrating educational models inspired by Western pedagogy and modern educational theory, including learner-centered and active learning approaches.
Our vision is to inspire young people and passionate learners to develop into global citizens grounded in both secular education and Buddhist wisdom. Recognizing the growing importance of language proficiency in the modern, digital age, VICASA aspires to become a meaningful bridge—facilitating, supporting, and empowering those with the wholesome aspiration to walk the educational path.
We respectfully invite you to join us in this journey—to learn, to share, to grow together, and to help preserve and propagate the True Dhamma for the benefit of many, now and into the future.
