Welcome to VICASA – Buddhism and Education!

The bilingual English-Vietnamese website vicasa.org synthesizes Sayalay Vijjāñāṇī’s knowledge and personal experiences about Buddhism and Education. It was generated with the target of propagating free foreign language classes established and maintained by the VICASA Lifelong Learning community, Theravada Buddhist insight (Dhamma doctrine and practice), foreign language learning experiences and materials (English, Pāḷi, Burmese), Western educational knowledge (M.Ed., Ed.D.) and a variety of useful life skills.

After many years of accumulating knowledge, nurturing plans and implementing projects, the website has served as a Dhamma present throughout 10 years of Vijjāñāṇī’s renunciation and ordination to cultivate and practice the Gotama Buddha’s teachings. She respectfully bestows this Dhamma gift to her parents, teachers, all relatives, companions, believers, and donors. She would like to thank all of you for your enthusiastic support in terms of intellectual and financial resources during the past years of studying and practicing. Her current website represents the initial journey and will be updated over time.

She would like to proffer and dedicate all the merits in the process of building the website as well as the merits from studying and serving to her grandparents, parents, teachers, relatives, friends and all sentient beings from hell, asuras, hungry ghosts, animals, humans, devas in the desire realm, Brahmas in the form realm, Brahmas in the formless realm, and King Yama. May all of you delightedly receive and rejoice in this noble offering of Dhamma. May you escape all suffering and enjoy lasting peace and happiness everywhere.

This noble merit from each of us, may it become favorable condition for us to be born in every life as a person with right view, with pure faith in the Three Jewels, believing in kamma and the results of kamma, having the wholesome cause to be close to the insightful, listening to the genuine Dhamma of the wise, attempting to diligently practice according to the teachings of the wise, ceaselessly fulfilling all the paramitas to soon be complete and accomplished, aspiring to soon realize the Four Noble Truths, attaining the Four Noble Paths, the Four Noble Fruits and Nibbana, wishing to purely eradicate all afflictions and defilements without any residue, liberating ourselves from the suffering of birth and death in the cycle of rebirth in the three realms and four species, and ultimately becoming an Arahant in the Buddha’s teachings.

Icchitaṃ patthitaṃ amhaṃ, khippameva samijjhatu.
Our wishes and aspirations
May they soon be fulfilled as desired.

Sayalay Vijjāñāṇī
