To follow the ITBMU Diploma learning program, you need to possess at least an English foundation or basic English and develop to the intermediate level so that learners can acquire substantial Buddhist English knowledge in ITBMU. Additionally, you must equip elementary Pāḷi grammar, basic Buddhist theory, and essential Abhidhamma in your mother tongue to best pursue the Buddhist English knowledge conveyed by outstanding monastic lecturers from that international university.
The ITBMU entrance examination for a Diploma in Buddha Dhamma annually includes writing and oral exams. Writing comprises a general Buddhist knowledge exam with five questions and essay answers lasting 2 hours, along with a foundational grammar test for 2 hours. Moving to the oral exam, a Burmese will conduct one-on-one interview with candidates about some basic personal information and short basic Buddhist questions.
